A dedicated team to support older persons and their families in managing and navigating the many challenges of ageing through assessments, care coordination & advocacy.
This team responds to reports of elder abuse, and neglect of older persons and also assists older persons who require care.
Clientele: Older Persons ages 65 and older
This dedicated social work team was formalised by DCFS in June 2018, in accordance with recommendations to facilitate systems designated with special attention to the needs of older persons. This team was formed as an outcome of the Cayman Islands Older Persons Policy (2016) and the Cayman Islands Older Persons Act (2017).

They respond to reports of elder abuse, and neglect of older persons and also assist older persons who require care --- whether they reside in a residential facility or at home.
Activities & Programmes
Residential Facilities
DCFS’s residential facilities provide social support and address the needs of indigent older and disabled persons who are in need of care. These residential homes are staffed by three Registered Nurses and Resident Care staff.
The Department operates and manages three residential homes on Grand Cayman:
Golden Age Home, 216 Hell Road, West Bay
Maple House, 40 Maple Road, George Town
Habakkuk House, 88 Northward Road, Bodden Town
In Cayman Brac, DCFS operates and manages the Kirkconnell Community Care Centre, located at 207 Dennis Foster Road, Stake Bay.
